Level the Playing Field Donates Specialized Motorized Gazebo Swing to ARI of Stamford.
Organization Continues Support of Outdoor Recreation Equipment for Stamford Area Special Needs Citizens
Based on a grant request from long-time partner, ARI of Stamford, Level the Playing Field responded by providing a Whisper Glide wheelchair-accessible swing at the Palermo Group Home in Stamford.
“We have decades of support to ARI,” notes LTPF Founder and President, Ken D’Andrea. “Each year ARI gives us a wish list that, with our partners and event attendees, we are able to make come true.” This year, it was funding for this important piece of outdoor recreational equipment.
The Grant was awarded for the swing at the Fall Ball 2024 gala. It was subsequently installed in 2025 and has been enjoyed by the 7 residents at the home. Others plan to use the swing in the future.
“It is a great way for individuals to enjoy the outside and relax on a nice day,” notes committee member, Jenna Watts. “Families that come to visit will enjoy the swing with their loved one. “
The residents themselves give the swing an enthusiastic “thumbs up.”
“ARI is grateful for the support from Level the Playing Field that has allowed us to purchase and install a Whisper Glide wheelchair accessible gazebo style swing for all to enjoy.” ARI Associate Director of Development, Gerard Gasparino concludes.
